Symptoms
Assume that you have a Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Integration Services (SSIS 2012) or SQL Server 2014 Integration Services (SSIS 2014) package that invokes a child package by using the Execute Package Task. DEBUG mode execution in SQL Server Data Tools of the child package that is stored in MSDB database runs slower than the copy of the same package stored on the file system.
Resolution
The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.

Cumulative Update 10 for SQL Server 2012 SP1 /en-us/help/2954099
