Symptoms

Issue 1Consider the following scenario:

  • A user performs an operation by using an application that sends a port list in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2013.

  • The application uses the Microsoft.BizTalk.ExplorerOM assembly or BizTalk Server Administration Console.

  • The user is a member of the BTS_HOST_USERS or BTS_OPERATORS MicrosoftSQL Server database role.

In this scenario, the operation fails.Issue 2Assume that a user is a member of the BTS_HOST_USERS SQL Server database role, and BizTalk Server 2013 is installed on a computer. In this situation, the user cannot use an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) pipeline to send or receive EDI messages on the computer.

Cause

Cause of issue 1This issue occurs because the SELECT permission is not granted to the BTS_HOST_USERS or BTS_OPERATORS SQL Server database role on the bts_dynamicport_subids and bts_dynamic_sendport_handlers Biztalk tables.Cause of issue 2This issue occurs because the EXECUTE permission is not granted to the BTS_HOST_USERS SQL Server database role on the [dbo].[adm_Group_Enum] stored procedure.

Resolution

To resolve the issues, apply the fix that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article:

2830546 FIX: The vertical scroll bar on the target schema does not work correctly when you use Visual Studio to design a BizTalk Server 2013 map Note Update 2830546 includes the fixes that are described in KB articles 2830546, 2832136, and 2832137.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

Workaround

To work around these issues, enable BAM alerts before you apply any configuration in BizTalk Server 2013.
