Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You use the BizTalk Adapter for WebSphere MQ (MQSC Adapter) to receive messages from IBM WebSphere MQ.

  • The incoming IBM WebSphere MQ messages are formatted by using MQRFH2 headers.

  • The Integer Format (Int Fmt) in the MQ Message Descriptor (MQMD) for the incoming message is set to UNIX or Host.

In this scenario, the MQSC Adapter may pass the message as a zero-byte stream to the BizTalk Server Pipeline component.

Cause

This problem occurs because, when the Integer Format in the MQMD is set to UNIX or Host, the integer values in the MQRFH2 header are encoded by using big-endian formatting. The other values in MQMD are encoded by using little-endian formatting.
