Abadi is a sans serif typeface with personality. Initially two weights, Regular and Extra Light, provided contrast for text and display uses, and a distinctive yet easily readable look. Towards the end of 2025 a Bold was added along with accompanying italic styles for the three weights.

Abadi was designed at Monotype by Malaysian-born type designer Ong Chong Wah, inspired partly by Gill Sans, a humanist sans serif (its shapes based on lettering and handwriting), partly by the more industrial-looking sans serifs of the 19th century. The Abadi family was designed for both text use in magazines or newspapers and display use in advertising. Its large x-height and rounded forms make it stand out clearly, and its humanist touches give Abadi its own personality.
