STZhongsong (华文中宋 in Chinese) is a typeface designed for typesetting the Chinese language using the Simplified Chinese script. It is a “serif” style (Ming or Song) with high contrast between thick and thin strokes and small triangular flourishes at the end of many of the strokes. It is a solid, square, traditional style with straight horizontal strokes. It is best used at large sizes.
STZhongsong was designed by Changzhou SinoType Technology Co. It has only one weight, with no italic style. In addition to Simplified Chinese characters, the font includes Japanese kanji, hiragana, and katakana, along with a variety of symbols, as well as capitals and lowercase letters for the Latin, Greek, and Cyrillic alphabets, derived from the Bookman typeface.
