Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:

You have a deployed server that is running Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2012.
-
You have the Domain Name System (DNS) Server role installed on the server.
-
The DNS server contains Active Directory-Integrated DNS Zones.
-
The domain naming master role of the forest is held on another domain controller.
In this scenario, heavy network traffic may be observed from the DNS server to the domain naming master server because of a large number of Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) queries. Additionally, you may find that the LDAP query is actually for the DNS Settings object that contains the msDNS-KeymasterZones attribute.
Cause
This problem occurs because the new DNSSEC feature in Windows Server 2012 tries to query the Domain Naming Master for the msDNS-KeymasterZones attribute every minute for all AD integrated zones on the DNS server.
Resolution
To resolve this issue in Windows Server 2012 R2, install update 2919355.To resolve this issue in Windows Server 2012, install the hotfix that is described in this article.
