Applies ToMicrosoft Outlook 2010

This article describes the issues that are fixed in the Microsoft Outlook 2010 hotfix package that is dated November 11, 2014. Click the "Hotfix Download Available" button to obtain the hotfix. This hotfix has a prerequisite.

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Assume that you open a meeting request in Microsoft Outlook 2010, you insert an attachment in the response message, and then you save the message as a draft item. When you try to open the attachment from the draft item in the Drafts folder, you receive the following error message:

The operation failed. An object cannot be found.

Additionally, when you try to delete the attachment from the item, Outlook may crash.

  • In some scenarios, you may be able to copy content from an information rights management (IRM)-protected email message from the Outlook 2010 Reading pane.

  • In some scenarios, you cannot open certain attachments whose file name contains more than one period directly from an email item in Outlook 2010. This occurs because all the periods in the file name except the last one are replaced with spaces.

  • Assume that you use a delegate account to access the manager’s calendar folder in Outlook 2010, and then you use a custom form to schedule an appointment. When the delegate accepts the meeting invitation, the appointment item is saved in the delegate’s calendar folder instead of the manager’s folder.

  • Outlook 2010 cannot send the IMAP ID extension information to the IMAP servers that support the ID RFC.
