This article describes the issues that are fixed in the Microsoft Word 2013 hotfix package that is dated November 11, 2014. Click the "Hotfix Download Available" button to get the hotfix.

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Assume that you install a custom add-in for Word that enumerates shapes by using VBA code. When you use the add-in, Word may crash.

  • Assume that you have a document that is assembled at XML level by using an altChunk reference to another document that is contained in the document's Open XML package, and the document imported by using the altChunk reference contains a data-bound content control. When you open the document in Word 2013, the value in the content control may be incorrect.

  • Assume that you have two Word 2013 documents that both contain tables. The tables in the two documents are identical. However, when you compare the two documents, Word shows formatting difference in each table in the Revision Pane.

  • Assume that you open a Word 2013 document that contains vertical text in a Windows 7-based computer, and the vertical text has the font set to Yu Font. However, your Windows 7 system does not have Yu font installed. In this situation, the document is displayed in a different font, and the parentheses and the kana prolonged sound marks are displayed incorrectly.

  • Assume that you create a Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System (VSTO) add-in to intercept the WindowSelectionChange event in a Word 2013 document that contains a table. When you try to merge some cells in the table, the table may be corrupted.

  • Assume that you enable certain Group Policy settings for Office 2013 programs. In this situation, if you try to open a Word document in Protected View mode, Word 2013 may stop responding.

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You create a Word 2013 document and you open Japanese Input Method (IME).

    • You make some changes to the content of the document, and then you save it by clicking the Save button.

    • You continue to make some changes to the document.

    • You save and close the document.

In this scenario, when you open the Word document again, the changes that you made after you first saved the document are missing.
