INTRODUCTION
This article describes how to use Report Writer to add multiple sales orders to the POP Purchase Order Blank Form report in Microsoft Dynamics GP and in Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains.

When you modify the POP Purchase Order Blank Form report, you must delete the purchasing manufacturer information so that you can link the additional tables to the report. To add multiple sales orders to the POP Purchase Order Blank Form report, follow these steps.
Back up the Reports.dic file, and then open Report Writer

If you have any modified Microsoft Dynamics GP reports, back up the Reports.dic file. To locate the Reports.dic file, follow these steps:

Follow the appropriate step: • In Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0, point to Tools on the Microsoft Dynamics GP menu, point to Customize , and then click Report Writer . • In Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 and in Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains 8.0, point to Customize on the Tools menu, and then click Report Writer . |

Follow the appropriate step: • In Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 and in Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0, click Microsoft Dynamics GP in the Product list, and then click OK . • In Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains 8.0, click Great Plains in the Product list, and then click OK. |
Create table relationships

Click Tables , and then click Tables . |

Click popPOLineRollupTemp , click Open , click Relationships , and then click New . |

Click the ellipsis button (...) next to the Secondary Table field, click Purchase Order Line , and then click OK . |

In the Secondary Table Key field, click POP_POLineIdxID . |

In the Primary Table list, click PO Number to match the PO Number field in the Secondary Table column. |

In the Primary Table list, click Ord to match the Ord field in the Secondary Table column. |

Open the report

In the Original Reports pane, click POP Purchase Order Blank Form , and then click Insert . |

In the Modified Reports pane, click POP Purchase Order Blank Form , and then click Open . |

Click Purchasing Manufacturer Numbers , and then click Remove . When you are prompted to remove the table, click OK . |

Click Purchase Order Line Rollup Temp , and then click New . |

Click Purchase Order Line , and then click OK . |

Click Purchase Order Line , and then click New . |

Click SOP_POPLink , and then click OK . |

Modify the restrictions

In the Report Definition window, click Restrictions . |

Click MFG PO , and then click Delete . When you are prompted to delete the restriction, click Yes . |

In the Report Restrictions window, click New , and then type a name in the Restriction Name field. |

In the Report Table list, click Sales Transaction Work . |

In the Table Fields list, click SOP Number , and then click Add Field . |

In the Operators area, click = . |

Click Add Field , click OK , and then close the Report Restrictions window. |
Modify the report layout

In the Report Definition window, click Layout . |
2. |
Click Tools , and then click Section Options . |
3. |
In the Additional Headers section, click MFG Item Header , and then click Remove . When you are prompted to remove the header, click Yes . |

Click to clear the Body check box. |
5. |
In the Additional Headers area, click Comment3 Header , and then click New . |
6. |
In the Header Options window, type a name in the Header Name field. |
7. |
In the Report Table list, click Sales Transaction Work . |
8. |
In the Field list, click SOP Number . |

Click to clear the Suppress When Field Is Empty check box, click OK , and then click OK to create the H4 section on the report layout. |

In the Toolbox list, click Sales Transaction Work . |
11. |
Drag SOP Number to the H4 section on the report layout. |
12. |
Close the Report Layout window. When you are prompted to save the changes, click Save . |

In the Report Definition window, click OK . |

Exit Report Writer. To do this, follow the appropriate step: • In Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 and in Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0, click Microsoft Dynamics GP on the File menu. • In Microsoft Business Solutions -Great Plains 8.0, click Microsoft Business Solutions-Great Plains on the File menu. |
Assign security permissions to the modified report
To assign security permissions to the modified report, use one of the following methods.
Method 1: Use security in Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0

On the Microsoft Dynamics GP menu, point to Tools , point to Setup , point to System , and then click Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports . |

In the ID box, type the user ID of the user who will print the report that you modified. |
3. |
In the Product list, click Microsoft Dynamics GP . |
4. |
In the Type list, click Reports . |
5. |
Expand Purchasing . |
6. |
Expand the folder for the report that you modified. |
7. |
Click to select the Microsoft Dynamics GP (Modified) check box. |
8. |
Click Save . |
9. |
On the Microsoft Dynamics GP menu, point to Tools , point to Setup , point to System , and then click User Security . |

In the User list, click a user ID. |
11. |
In the Company list, click a company. |
12. |
In the Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports ID list, click the ID from step 2. |
Method 2: Use the Advanced Security tool in a version that is earlier than Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0

On the Tools menu, point to Setup , point to System , and then click Advanced Security . |

If you are prompted, type the system password in the Please Enter Password box, and then click OK . |

In the Advanced Security window, click View , and then click By Alternate, Modified and Custom . |

Follow the appropriate step: • In Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0, expand Microsoft Dynamics GP . • In Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains 8.0, expand Great Plains . |

Expand Reports , expand Purchasing , and then expand the report that you modified. |

Follow the appropriate step: • In Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0, click Microsoft Dynamics GP (Modified) . • In Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains 8.0, click Great Plains (Modified) . |

Click Apply , and then click OK . Note By default, when you start the Advanced Security tool, the current user and the current company are selected. Any changes that you make affect the current user and the current company. However, you can select additional users in the Users area of the Advanced Security window. You can select additional companies in the Company Name area of the Advanced Security window. |
Method 3: Use the Standard Security tool in a version that is earlier than Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0

On the Tools menu, point to Setup , point to System , and then click Security . |

If you are prompted, type the system password in the Please Enter Password box, and then click OK . |

In the User ID list, click the ID of the user who you want to have access to the modified report. |

In the Type list, click Modified Reports . |

In the Series list, click Purchasing . |
6. |
In the Access List box, double-click the report that you modified, and then click OK . Note An asterisk (*) appears next to the report name. |
