Overview
Microsoft is committed to complying with the Digital Markets Act (DMA) in the European Economic Area (EEA). Microsoft supports the DMA by granting certain Windows data and interoperability features to providers of third-party applications and services, end users, and business users, upon request and free of charge. This article explains how to submit a DMA request for Windows Data or Interoperability using a dedicated online form.
Scope and eligibility
This process applies to DMA requests for Windows data and interoperability under the DMA Articles 6(7), 6(9), and 6(10). These articles cover the following scenarios:
-
Article 6(7) requires that third-party application and service providers on Windows have effective interoperability with the same hardware and software features as are available to Microsoft applications and services.
-
Article 6(9) requires Microsoft to provide end users and third parties authorized by an end user, at their request and free of charge, with effective portability of data provided by the end user or generated through the activity of the end user in the context of the use of Windows.
-
Article 6(10) requires Microsoft to provide business users and third parties authorized by a business user, at their request, free of charge, with effective, high-quality, continuous and real-time access to, and use of, aggregated and non-aggregated data, including personal data, that is provided to or generated by Windows in the context of a business user’s software. Access to personal data requires end-user consent.
The DMA request form is accessible worldwide. However, requests using this form must fall within the scope of these specific DMA Articles. For DMA requests not related to these Articles, please contact DMAFeedback@microsoft.com.
