It’s been an exciting journey since we first announced the Your Phone and Your Phone Companion apps back in October 2018.

Since then, we’ve embarked on bringing all the important capabilities and content from your Android phone to your Windows PC. Over the course of this journey, we’ve carefully listened to your feedback and we’ve used it to continue evolving our app experiences.

Our latest evolution brings a new name to unify the experience for all our users. With that, we're introducing Microsoft Phone Link as the PC app experience, and Link to Windows as our mobile app for Android devices.

A fresh new look

We’ve polished the design of Phone Link on your PC by updating the app’s interface to complement Microsoft’s Windows 11 design language. It’s still the simple and elegant app that you’ve come to love, but it’s been newly optimized so you can feel confident about staying in touch with all your content.

And with the Phone Link app’s new tabbed navigation design, all the important features you care about are now easier to use than ever.

Link to Windows on Android devices

If you were previously running Link to Windows on your Android device, be sure to update the app to receive the newest version.

  • The Link to Windows app is preinstalled on select Samsung, HONOR, Surface Duo, and OPPO devices that are running Android 9.0 or later. On such devices, you can find the Link to Windows app under the Quick Settings menu by swiping down from the top of your screen.

  • For all other Android devices running Android 7.0 or later, download the new Link to Windows app from the Google Play Store.

We want to hear from you!

Please continue to share your feedback with us — either in the Google Play Store, directly in the Phone Link and Link to Windows apps, or at the bottom of this article.

Thank you!
