INTRODUCTION

How to install the cumulative update package
To install the cumulative update package, follow these steps:
-
Download and locate the SSCERuntime-ENU.exe file.
-
Double-click the SSCERuntime-ENU.exe file to start the extraction process.
-
In the SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2 Self-Extractor dialog box, specify the folder to contain the extracted files, and then click OK.
-
Move to the extraction folder that you set in step 3.
-
Double-click the SSCERuntime_x86-ENU.msi file or the SSCERuntime_x64-ENU.msi file, and then follow the setup instructions.
On 64-bit computers, install both the 32-bit and the 64-bit versions of the SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2 CU1 MSI files. Existing SQL Server Compact 3.5 applications may fail if the 32-bit version of the MSI file is installed on a 64-bit computer. Developers should attach both the 32-bit and the 64-bit MSI files together with their applications and install both on 64-bit computers.Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 974247 or the Install.txt file that is extracted together with the MSI files.
For more information, refer toHow to uninstall the cumulative update package
To uninstall the cumulative update package, follow these steps:
-
In Control Panel, open the
Add or Remove Programs item. Note If you are using Windows 7, in Control Panel, open the Programs and Features item. -
Find the entry that corresponds to “Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2 ENU” and “Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2 X64 ENU”. Then, right-click each of them and select “Uninstall” to uninstall the cumulative update.
Because SQL Server Compact cumulative updates install the whole product, step 2 will also uninstall SQL Server Compact 3.5. If you want to install SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2 again, you must install the MSI files one more time. You can download the MSI files at the following URL:http://www.microsoft.com/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=e497988a-c93a-404c-b161-3a0b323dce24
