Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have an entity that has four attributes in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Master Data Services (MDS). For example, the attributes for the entity are A1, A2, A3, and F.¬†Attribute A3 is a domain-based attribute.

  • You have two business rules. One rule tries to set the value of F to A1. The second rule tries to set the value of F to A2 when A3 is set to a certain value.

  • You publish and apply the two business rules.

In this scenario, the value of F is not updated.

Note The expected operation is that attribute A3 dictates F to be updated to the value of A2. Instead, the value of F stays blank.
