The fix also applies to Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Analysis Services (SSAS 2014).
Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
-
You process data in a Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services (SSAS 2012) or SQL Server 2014 Analysis Services (SSAS 2014) tabular model that contains some calculated columns.
-
A calculated column depends on another calculated column indirectly through a dependency path that contains a relationship.
-
You perform a ProcessRecalc operation after a ProcessData operation on the tabular model.
In this scenario, the calculated column cannot be processed, and you may receive the following error messages:
The expression referenced column '<ColumnName>' which does not hold any data because it needs to be recalculated or refreshed.
The query referenced calculated column '<ColumnName>' which does not hold any data because evaluation of one of the rows caused an error.Note The columns that are referenced in the error message are calculated columns.
