Symptoms
Assume that you use Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services (SSAS) or SSAS 2014. When you perform a Process Full operation on many partitions in a transaction within the same cube, the processing may fail, and you receive the following error message:
An unexpected error occurred (file 'xmcompanalyzer.cpp', line 553, function 'XMCompressionAnalyzer::SelectBitPackCompression'). The current operation was cancelled because another operation in the transaction failed.
Cause
This issue occurs because sanity checks that are performed by SSAS do not recognize possible overflows in some particular situation.
Resolution
The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.
