Symptoms

Assume that you have a database that includes columnstore indexes on a Microsoft SQL Server 2014 instance. When the server is under memory pressure and there are many objects in the columnstore object pool, a "Non-yielding Scheduler" error may occur. This may cause SQL Server to freeze or become unresponsive.

Resolution

This problem was first fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:

Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2014 Service Pack 1

Cumulative Update 8 for SQL Server 2014

Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. View the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
