Symptoms

Assume that you create a contained database in Microsoft SQL Server 2014. When you right-click the contained database and then click Properties, you receive the following error message:

The module being executed is not trusted. Either the owner of the database needs to be granted authenticate permission or the module needs to be digitally signed. (Microsoft SQL Server Error: 15562)Login failed for user '<contuser>' (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 18456)

Resolution

The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server:

Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. We recommend that you download and install the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
