Symptoms

Assume that you use the Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Reporting Services (SSRS 2016) Report Viewer Web Part in Microsoft SharePoint 2013. After you upgrade from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint 2016, you may notice that the SharePoint sites fail to load, because multiple SSRS web parts are not upgraded and refer the wrong version.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative update for SQL Server:

       Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2016 SP1

Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. Check out the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:

Workaround

To work around this issue, you may remove the Report Viewer Web Part from the SharePoint site and then re-add the web parts.
