Consider the following scenario:

  • You use Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or SQL Server 2017.

  • Every few seconds you run a monitoring stored procedure that includes references to the Dynamic Management Fucntion (DMF) sys.dm_exec_query_statistics_xml, on a busy server.

  • The query_thread_profile extended event is in use, or Trace Flag (TF) 7412 is enabled.

In this scenario, you may notice that random access violations occur.
