Assume that you use Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC) transactions in SQL Server 2019 with Tempdb Memory-Optimized Metadata mode enabled. In some scenarios, DTC transactions involving tempdb metadata-related operations could fail internally, with an error related to transactions on memory-optimized tables not being supported in DTC scenarios. However, since DTC transactions are actually supported with memory-optimized tempdb system tables, this update fixes the issue by avoiding raising the error message.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
