Only the languages listed in the drop downs are supported at this time.
Windows language default
By default, Journal will use a supported language closest to one of your preferred Windows languages. If there isn’t a good match available, Journal will use English (United States). To customize the operating system language, tap on Start > Settings > Time & Language > Language.
Customize the default language within Journal
You may want to keep your Windows language different from what you write with in Journal.
To choose a different default language for new journals, tap Settings > Language Settings from within Journal and select your preferred language from the list.
Customizing languages for pages
To change the language for a page within an exiting journal, tap the Page Menu > Page Language and pick your preferred language.
If a page language is different than your preferred Windows language, the header of that page will show the language it is using next to the page number.
New pages, when created, will adopt the same language as preceding pages.
