Consider the following scenario:

  • You have a computer that is running Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 in a domain environment.

  • You install and enable the French Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI) language pack on the computer.

  • You try to log on to the computer by using a domain user account.

In this scenario, it takes longer than expected to log on to the computer.

Note The logon time is longer than the time that is required to log on to a computer that does not have the French MUI language pack installed.

This issue occurs because the following registry subkey is missing:

HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-19\Control Panel\DesktopIn this situation, additional calls are made to check the domain user name during the logon process.

To resolve this issue, install the following update. After you install the update, the missing registry subkey is created on the computer.
