Symptoms
You debug a mixed mode C++/CLI application that targets to Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. When the debugger hits a breakpoint, you notice that some native frames are missing in the call stack.
Cause
This problem occurs because of an issue in the detection of thunks in common language runtime (CLR) 4.0 when the debugger unwinds the stack.
Thunks are used for transition between native code and managed code.
Resolution

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Prerequisites

Restart information
You do not have to restart the computer after you install the hotfix successfully.
