This article describes an issue that occurs after you perform a migration of virtual machine storage in Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2. An update is available to resolve this issue. Before you install this update, check out the Prerequisites section.

Symptoms

Assume that you try to perform a migration of virtual machine storage from a Cluster Shared Volume (CSV) to another CSV by using Failover Clustering Manager console or Virtual Machine Manager (VMM). After the virtual machine configuration, data files are migrated to another location. However, the files in the old location are not removed.Note This results in multiple copies of the virtual machine files, and also makes it difficult to track what data was actually moved and what was not.

How to obtain this update

    Version

    Product

    Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2
