Copilot quickly prepares you for meetings within minutes by summarizing key information such as summaries of meeting-related emails and documents, your specific actionable tasks, and a recap of the previous meeting. This helps ensure you are well-prepared upon arrival.
Note: This feature will be released on Outlook on the Web and new Outlook for Windows initially. Check back for updates on Mac and mobile availability in the future.
What meeting types are supported?
You will see the Prepare with Copilot button for meetings with at least three participants (including the organizer) and where the meeting has related content that can be summarized. Not all meetings will have a summary available at this time. As we develop this feature further, more meetings will be supported.
Notes:
-
Meetings that have no related content shared, such as lack of documents shared with attendees, or lack of prior emails and chat history between participants, the feature may not produce a comprehensive summary and may respond with generic responses. Always check the information provided.
-
Copilot will not generate a summary for meetings with content that includes potentially harmful or offensive content.
How to use Copilot to prepare for your meeting
-
Open the calendar in Outlook on the web or new Outlook for Windows and select your meeting.
-
Select Prepare with Copilot.
-
Copilot will gather related information and create a meeting summary for your review.
Privacy and access control
Copilot will only summarize related meeting content that you have access to. The summary provided to you is unique and other participants may see a different summary based on their access and permissions.
Note: This feature is available to all Copilot users. As an admin, ensure that the Meeting Insightssetting is enabled for your tenant. Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center > Search & Intelligence > Configurations > Manage Meeting Insights settings.
