Symptoms
You install MS14-080: Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer: December 9, 2014 on a computer that's running Internet Explorer 11 or the Internet Explorer 11 Web Browser control. However, after you do this, you may experience unexpected behavior when you interact with sites that use one or more web application modal dialog boxes. Any data or information that's provided in the modal dialog box may not be returned to the application window or to the dialog box that created the data or information. Therefore, the application that created the dialog box may exhibit errors or lack specific functionality that was dependent on that dialog box data.Â
Resolution
This issue is resolved in update 3034762. And we recommend that you install the Description of the security update for Internet Explorer: February 10, 2015 (MS15-009) that fixes many other issues in addition to the issue that this update fixes.

Status
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
More Information
When this problem occurs, the webpage calls the showModalDialog() function and the varArgIn parameter from a modal window. However, the showModal.dialogArguments object in the created modal window is NULL. Additionally, the return value of the showModalDialog() function is NULL or undefined when it should have a valid value.
