Student Guide to Microsoft Teams

Select the Chat icon () to open a new chat and ask your teacher a question. If chat is not available in your class team, use @mention of your teacher’s name in a channel instead. 

Your assignments will appear as cards on the day they are due. Select a card to open an assignment’s details.

Select the Assignments tab from the side panel to view all of your assignments across multiple classes. Assignment cards appear in order of due date, Mon-Fri. Assignments you’ve saved as drafts appear here, too.

Select an assignment card in Assignments to open an assignment’s details. Attach work if your teacher has specified something to turn in. Select Turn in, Turn in again, or Turn in late—these will change depending on the assignment’s status. 

If you’re unable to use chat using the Chat icon (), your school's IT Administrator may have turned it off. If that's the case, you can still ask your teacher a question. Use @mention with your teacher's name in a channel.

Note: other students will be able to see your question.
