AI Overview is a generative-AI–powered enhancement to the Microsoft.com search results page. When a user query is entered, it returns a brief response, and link(s) to the Microsoft page source. The responses are derived from content published on Microsoft websites.

It interprets search queries, locates relevant content from Microsoft websites, and delivers clear responses. Responses include link(s) back to the Microsoft page where the information originated so that users can explore further.

AI Overview enables self-service resolutions of questions, discover information, and facilitates problem solving without extra navigation or support requests. It also directs users to the exact Microsoft page(s) they need to learn more about a specific topic.

AI Overview was evaluated through manual and automated testing to measure accuracy, relevance, and coherence. Custom datasets were used to assess offensive and malicious queries and responses. Continuous assessments are performed leveraging user feedback.
