Introduction
This article describes the issues that are fixed in Update Rollup 6 for Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2019. This article also contains the installation instructions for this update.
MARS agent (version 2.0.9262.0 or a later version).

This update fixes the following issues:

Recovery point creation fails for Hyper-V VMs with error ID 958 due to VM cyclic migration.
-
Online backup jobs fail with AgentShadowCopyMissing error due to mount timeout issues.
-
Restore of VMware VMs to alternate location fails with error code VMConfigMismatched when disks are excluded from backup.
-
DPMSync tool crashes when DPM DB contains protected VMware VMs.
-
Hyper-V VM backup and restore intermittently fails with error ID 60.
-
Alternate location restore for VMware VM fails with InvalidDeviceSpec error.
-
Pruning of recovery points fail with ReplicaConcurrencyCheckFailedException error.

DPM reports show erroneous Total Used Size for volume backups.
Note: A fresh installation of the Update Rollup agent could cause a restart of the protected server.

Known issues
Offline Seeding does not work with MARS agent 2.0.9254.0 and above
Description: Subsequent online recovery points creation fails after the first online recovery point is successfully created for data sources backed up through Databox only, when the MARS agent version is greater than 2.0.9254.0.
Workaround: None. Contact Microsoft support for assistance.
How to obtain Update Rollup for System Center Data Protection Manager 2019
Update packages for Data Protection Manager are available from Microsoft Update or by manual download.
Microsoft Update

To obtain and install an update package from Microsoft Update, follow these steps on a computer that has a Data Protection Manager component installed:

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

In the Control Panel, double-click Windows Update.

In the Windows Update window, click Check Online for updates from Microsoft Update.

Click Important updates are available.
-
Select the Update Rollup package, and then click OK.

Click Install updates to install the update package.

Installation instructions for Data Protection Manager
To install this update for Data Protection Manager, follow these steps:

Before you install this update, make a backup of the Data Protection Manager database.

Install this rollup package on the server that's running System Center Data Protection Manager 2019. To do this, run Microsoft Update on the server.

In the Data Protection Manager Administrator Console, update the protection agents. To do this, use one of the following methods.
Method 1: Update the protection agents from the Data Protection Manager Administrator Console

Open the Data Protection Manager Administrator Console.

Click the Management tab, and then click the Agents tab.

In the Protected Computer list, select a computer, and then click Update on the Action pane.

Click Yes, and then click Update Agents.
Method 2: Update the protection agents on the protected servers

Obtain the updated protection agent package from the installation directory of the System Center Data Protection Manager 2019 server at following path: agents\RA\10.19.861.0\amd64\1033\DPMProtectionAgent_KB5035307.msp

Run the DPMProtectionAgent.msp package on each protected server.

Open the Data Protection Manager Administrator Console on the System Center Data Protection Manager server 2019.

Click the Management tab, and then click the Agents tab. Select the protected server, refresh the information, and then verify that the agent version number is 10.19.861.0
