Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:

You use Windows Internet Explorer 9 or Internet Explorer 10.

You disable the FEATURE_MIME_HANDLING feature for the iexplore.exe process by setting the iexplore.exe value to 0x00000000 under the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_MIME_HANDLING

You close all instances of Internet Explorer, and then you open a new instance of Internet Explorer.

You try to download a file from a website on which a Content-Disposition header is present.
In this scenario, the file cannot be downloaded.
Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the most recent cumulative security update for Internet Explorer. To do this, go to the following Microsoft website:
