Here are a few things to try if Microsoft Edge doesn't open:
-
Restart your device. Restart your device (in Windows, select the Start button, then select Power > Restart), and then reopen Microsoft Edge.
-
Select the Start button > Settings> Update & security > Windows Update, and then select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your PC is current, you have all the available updates installed.
-
-
Install the latest updates. Run Windows Update to help correct problems by replacing outdated files, updating drivers, and fixing vulnerabilities.
Note: If you restart your device now, you'll lose connection to our chat. Go to What to do if Microsoft Edge isn't working and add it as a favorite in your browser so you can see this info late
-
Repair or reset Microsoft Edge (on Windows). Select the Start button > Settings > Apps > Microsoft Edge > Advanced options. First try repairing your browser, and if that doesn't help, try resetting Microsoft Edge.
Note: Resetting will remove your history, cookies, and any browser settings you changed.
-
If you're using a Mac, you can reinstall Edge by launching any working browser, going to http://microsoft.com/edge, and then downloading and installing Edge again.
