Follow these steps to remove and reinstall your printer. This will update your printer’s drivers and ensure that your printer is properly installed on your PC.
On Windows 11:

Remove the printer in Settings

Select Start > Bluetooth & Devices> Printers & scanners

Under the Printers & scanners header, select the printer you are troubleshooting. Select Removedevice. Follow the instructions to fully remove the printer.

Remove any 3rd party printer manufacturer software

Select Start > Settings > Apps
-
Under the Apps & features header, scroll to find any software installed from your printer’s manufacturer (such as HP, Canon, or Epson).

Select the software and select Uninstall.

Turn off and restart your printer

Turn off your printer and unplug its power cable. Wait 30 seconds. Plug your printer back in and turn the printer back on.

Reinstall your printer in Settings

Select Start > Bluetooth & Devices> Printers & scanners

Select the Add printer or scanner link at the top of the screen and follow the instructions to reinstall your printer.

On Windows 10:

Remove the printer in Settings

Select Start > Settings > Devices> Printers & scanners

Under the Printers & scanners header, select the printer you are troubleshooting. Select Remove device. Follow the instructions to fully remove the printer.
