Wherever you see a search icon on your Windows 10 Mobile device, select it to search for help, apps, files, or settings.
Cortana will help you find things on the web, get stuff done, and even identify that song you're hearing. Select the Search button to search with Cortana. Type what you're looking for, or select the microphone next to the search box if you'd rather say it. Select Music search , and Cortana will listen and identify a song for you. Cortana is only available in certain countries/regions, and some Cortana features might not be available everywhere. If Cortana isn't available, you can still use search.
Need help finding an app? On Start , swipe over to the All apps list. In the search box, type the partial or full name of an installed app to find it.
To find an app you don't have installed, type your search, and then select Search Store below the "No results…" message. You'll get results for apps and games in the Store that match your search, as well as relevant music, movies, and TV shows.
To find a file on your phone, search using File Explorer. On Start , swipe over to the All apps list, and then select File Explorer > Menu . Select either Recent or This Device, then select Search and type your search to find recent files or files across your entire device.
To find a setting or settings menu on your phone, on Start , swipe over to the All apps list, and then select Settings > Find a setting. Type the partial or full name of a settings menu, and you'll see all the results that match your search. For example, type "lock" to find lock screen, or type "mode" to find airplane mode and driving mode.
