On initial configuration, Windows 10 places app tiles on the Start screen for new Windows 10 devices and devices updated from Windows 7 or Windows 8. These tiles might open a local app or open Microsoft Store where the user can choose whether to install the app.
You can disable this feature locally or through Group Policy.
To disable app suggestions for all network users, select Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Cloud Content > Turn off Microsoft consumer experiences in Group Policy Editor.
To disable app suggestions locally, select the Start button, then select Settings > Personalization > Start, and then turn off Occasionally show suggestions in Start.
