FIX: Cannot save the SSRS report after you change a parameter in Report Builder or the SQL Server Data Tool

Symptoms

When you change a parameter in a Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or 2014 Reporting Services (SSRS) report in Report Builder or the SQL Server Data Tool, you cannot save the report. Additionally, you receive the following error message:

System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The input XML does not conform to the schema. XML grammar is described in the API documentation. For XML in reports, refer to Report Definition Language syntax. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.InvalidXmlException: The input XML does not conform to the schema. Update information

This issue is fixed in the following cumulative update for SQL Server:
Cumulative Update 7 for SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 3.
