We’re making apps update automatic to keep your PC secure.

Cyber threats are constantly evolving, and outdated apps can put your device at risk. The new setting ensures your apps always get the latest security patches and features, so your PC stays protected and compliant. By keeping everything up to date, we’re strengthening your defenses against emerging attacks—while still giving you the option to pause updates if needed.

What’s changed:

The On/Off toggle for app updates is replaced with a Pause option. Users can pause updates for a limited time (up to 5 weeks) and resume when ready.

This change aligns with the Windows Update experience, offering a consistent and secure approach to keeping your system current.
