How to use Cheers to support a news source
When you send a Cheer , you're purchasing a Cheer from Microsoft and sending it to support and reward the content creator.
You can purchase and send a Cheer using either Microsoft Rewards points or with cash (via a credit card payment).
To support a publisher or creator:

Go to MSN and sign in with your Microsoft Account. If you don't have one, click here.

Read articles by your favorite publisher or creator.

Click or tap the Cheers star at the top of the article.
You can choose to purchase and send a Cheer to a content creator using Microsoft Rewards points or cash (via a credit card).

Cheers can be purchased with Rewards points at 100, 200, 300, 400 or 500 points.

Cheers can be purchased with money in your Microsoft Account at 1 USD, 2 USD, 3 USD, 4 USD or 5 USD.

No. Your personal information is not shared, but a publisher can see your user profile name and the amount of the support provided. This is similar to when you comment on an article.

Support a news source by using a subscription
Some publishers provide an option to subscribe to their articles.

Go to MSN and sign in with your Microsoft Account.

Open the Navigation menu

Select Profile then Payments.

Choose your active subscription and select Manage then Cancel.
The subscription will renew automatically.
For expired subscriptions, you can re-subscribe from the publisher's profile page, the publisher's article page, or the payments tab of your profile:
