- You run a Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3-based image on a touch screen-based device.
- You use Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to connect to a remote computer on the device.
- You double-tap the icon of an application on the remote computer in the RDP session.
Note This issue occurs almost exclusively on touch screen-based devices where the precision of touch is less accurate.
You should be aware that this fix is disabled when you apply it. To enable the fix, set the EnableDoubleClickDetect DWORD Value to 1. By default, the EnableDoubleClickDetect DWORD Value does not exist, and you must create it under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client] in the registry.
This fix takes into consideration the DblTapDist and the DblTapTime values. These values specify the time and space threshold settings that define consecutive taps or clicks as double-taps or double-clicks. The default value for the DblTapDist setting is 20 pixels, and the default value for the DblTapTime setting is 600 milliseconds (ms). These settings can be optimized for platforms where more accurate tap or click precision is required. To optimize these settings, make the changes to the following registry entries:
Known issueAfter the EnableDoubleClickDetect value is set to resolve this issue, consecutive taps or clicks will not work as intended in an application when all the following conditions are true:
- The application is running on the RDP server.
- You want to make consecutive taps or clicks within DblTapDist pixels and within DblTapTime milliseconds in an application.
- You do not want the consecutive taps or clicks to be considered as a double-click.
