Note This issue occurs when a .NET Framework 4 language pack does not match the language that is being used in Windows 8. For example, assume that an English language edition of Windows 7 has the German language pack for the .NET Framework 4 installed. Then, you upgrade the Windows operating system to the English language edition of Windows 8. In this case, the German language pack files for the .NET Framework 4 remain untouched and are not updated to German language pack files for the .NET Framework 4.5.
However, this problem does not occur for the English language.
- Install the appropriate Windows 8 language pack after you upgrade to Windows 8
Note Be aware that this is a Windows 8 language pack, not a .NET Framework language pack.
- Uninstall the .NET Framework 4 language packs before you upgrade to Windows 8
