UPDATE 4/27/2020: Windows Defender Antivirus reporting and Perspectives are now scheduled to be removed beginning Monday, May 11, 2020.

Two planned feature removals for Update Compliance - Windows Defender Antivirus reporting and Perspectives - were originally scheduled to be removed on March 31, 2020. However, those removals have been placed on hold until the current situation stabilizes.

On January 31, 2020, Windows Analytics was retired in favor of Desktop Analytics. Update Compliance, one of the Windows Analytics solutions, remains supported through the Azure Portal. Go here to see the original announcement.

On May 11, 2020, per the above update, the following feature updates will be made to Update Compliance:

  • The Perspectives feature of Update Compliance will be retired. The Perspectives feature is part of the Log Search portal of Log Analytics, which was deprecated on February 15, 2019 in favor of Azure Monitor Logs. Update Compliance will be automatically upgraded to Azure Monitor Logs, and the data available in Perspectives will be migrated to sets of queries within each existing section of the Update Compliance experience.

  • The Windows Defender Antivirus reporting feature of Update Compliance will be retired. Customers can continue to define and review security compliance policies from Microsoft Endpoint Manager, which allows finer control over security features and updates.
