Employee telephone numbers do not appear when you view the Company Directory Web part in Microsoft Business Solutions - Business Portal


Symptoms


When you view the Company Directory Web part in Microsoft Business Solutions - Business Portal, telephone numbers do not appear for all employees. This problem occurs even though telephone numbers are entered for all employees in Microsoft Dynamics GP.

Resolution


To resolve this problem, employees must enter their work telephone numbers and any other company information that they want to share. This information must be entered on the Employee Work tab in Business Portal. To access the Employee Work tab, follow these steps:
  1. On the Business Portal Home page, click Employee.
  2. In the left Navigation Pane, click Profile.
  3. On the Work tab, click Modify.

More Information


When Business Portal is installed, the HRM_WorkContactDetails table is created in the company database to track work information. Most of the data flows directly from Microsoft Dynamics GP. However, employee information in the Employee Maintenance window is considered to be confidential. This information does not automatically flow to Business Portal. This confidential information includes the following information:
  • Telephone number
  • Fax number
  • E-mail address
