The Properties and Documentation windows provide additional information about the selected UML element. These windows do not appear by default. To view one of these windows, on the UML menu, click View, and then click Documentation or Properties.

You can move the Properties or Documentation windows so that they float, resize the window by dragging one of its borders, stack the windows together, or dock the window in another location by dragging it to any edge of the drawing page window.

Properties window

When you select a UML shape in a diagram, the main properties associated with the element appear in the Properties window. You cannot edit the properties in this tab; it is provided for viewing purposes only.

Documentation window

The documentation tagged value associated with a UML element appears in the Documentation window when you select either an element icon in the tree view or a shape on a drawing page that represents the element. You can also add documentation to an element by selecting its icon or shape, and then typing the documentation text here.
