In Microsoft Teams (free), you have direct and easy access to everything in your OneDrive. Your OneDrive files remain private until you share them. You can change file permissions or stop sharing directly in OneDrive.

Note: This feature is currently available on Microsoft Teams (free) for iOS and Android only.

Access your OneDrive files

To access your OneDrive files:

  1. Open Microsoft Teams (free).

  2. Tap your profile picture, then select Files.

  3. Tap OneDrive.

Share a file 

To share a file:

  1. Open Microsoft Teams (free).

  2. Tap your profile picture, then select Files.

  3. Tap OneDrive.

  4. Browse to the directory for the file you want to share.

  5. Tap More  More options button next to the file you want to share.

  6. Tap Share  Teams Android share icon.

  7. Tap the chat you want to share the file to. OneDrive will generate a link to the file.

  8. Tap the Send button  Send button in Microsoft Teams, mobile to share the link to the chat.

Get a link to a file 

To share a link to a OneDrive file: 

  1. Open Microsoft Teams (free).

  2. Tap your profile picture, then select Files.

  3. Tap OneDrive.

  4. Browse to the directory for the file for which you want to get a link.

  5. Tap More  More options button next to the file.

  6. Tap Copy Link  Link button in Microsoft Teams.

  7. OneDrive will generate a link, which is automatically copied to your device’s clipboard to share however you want.

File Storage in Microsoft Teams (free)

When you share files or files are shared with you in chat, those files will automatically be added to your OneDrive. 

To find shared files:

  1. Open Microsoft Teams (free).

  2. Tap your profile picture, then select Files.

  3. Tap OneDrive.

  4. Tap the Microsoft Teams Chat Files folder.

  5. Select the file you wish to view.

  1. Open Microsoft Teams (free).

  2. Tap your profile picture, then select Files.

  3. Tap OneDrive.

  1. Open Microsoft Teams (free).

  2. Tap your profile picture, then select Files.

  3. Tap OneDrive.

  4. Browse to the directory for the file you want to share.

    Tip: If you want to preview a file, select the file name to open it. Close the file to go back to your directory.

  5. Tap More  More options button  next to the file you want to share.

  6. Tap Share  Share icon in Teams for iOS.

  7. Select the chat you want to share the file to. OneDrive will generate a link to the file.

  8. Tap the Send button  Send button in Microsoft Teams, mobile to share the link to the chat.

Get a link to a file

To get a link to a OneDrive file:

  1. Open Microsoft Teams (free).

  2. Tap your profile picture, then select Files.

  3. Tap OneDrive.
