Select the slide that has the animation to which you want to add a sound.

On the ribbon, on the Animations tab, select Animation Pane.

Select the effect in the Animation pane, select the down arrow to the right of the effect, and then select Effect Options.

On the Effect tab, under Enhancements, click the arrow in the Sound list, and then do one of the following:

To add a sound from the list, click a sound.

To add a sound from a file, click Other Sound, and then locate the sound file that you want to use.

On the Animations tab, select Preview to see and hear the animation.Â
To add sound to a transition between slides, see Add a sound effect to a transition.

Select the slide that has the animation to which you want to add a sound.

On the ribbon, on the Animations tab, select Animation Pane.

Expand the Effect Options menu below the animations list. In the Sound list, do one of the following:

To add a sound from the list, select that sound.

To add a sound from a file, at the bottom of the list, select Other Sound, and then navigate to the sound file that you want to use, select it, then select Insert.

On the Animations tab, select Preview to see and hear the animation.Â

Sounds on animations aren't currently possible in PowerPoint for the web. You can, however, add sounds on animations in the PowerPoint desktop app.

To open the desktop app, at the top of the ribbon, select
 Editing and choose Open in Desktop App. ​​​​​​​
