In Microsoft Teams (free), you can add tasks for yourself or others, edit tasks you or your friends have added, or complete tasks in one-on-one and group chats. Find out how to create a task list here.

Go to the chat in which you want to create a task list.

Tap and hold on the message you'd like to create a new task for, then tap Create task.

Adjust the options as you wish, including picking the task list you want the task to appear in. Tap Save when you're done updating the task.

Go to the chat in which you want to edit a task.

Tap the chat or group header at the top of the screen.

Under Task lists, go to the list where you want to edit a task.

Tap the task you want to edit. From here you can:

Assign the task to a group member (only available in shared task lists). The person to whom you assigned the task will get a notification in their Activity feed.

Add a Due date to the task

Use the slider to mark the task as Important.

Add Notes to the task.
-
Add a checklist item.
-
Delete the task.
-

Go to the list where you want to delete a task.

Tap the task you want to delete.

Tap Delete
.

Confirm you want to delete the task.

Go to the list where you want to complete the task.

Tap next to the task to complete it. You can also tap next to the task again to unmark the task as completed.

Go to the chat in which you want to create a task list.

Enter your task name in the New task field.

Press the Enter key to add your new task.

Repeat the process for any additional tasks.

Double click the task you want to edit. You can:

- Select the more menu to Delete
the task.

- Mark task as completed.

- Assign the task to a group member (only available in shared task lists). The person to whom you assigned the task will get a notification in their Activity feed.

Priority - Set the task's priorityto Important or Medium.

Due date - Add a due date to the task.

Notes - Type a description or add notes for the task

Open Microsoft Teams (free).
Tip: For Chat in Windows 11, select the Open Teams
button.

Go to the chat in which you want to complete a task, then select the task list at the top of the chat window.

Select next to the task to complete it.

Go to the chat in which you want to add a task.

Select the task list at the top of the chat window.

Enter your task name in the Add a task field.

Select Create task
when you’ve entered your task.

Repeat the process for any additional tasks.

Set the task's Progress to Not started or Completed.

Set the task's Priority to Important or Medium.

Add a Due date to the task.

Select the more menu
to Delete
the task.

Go to the chat in which you want to complete a task, then select the task list at the top of the chat window.
