Click the picture that you want to change the brightness for.

On the Picture Format tab, select Corrections in the Adjust group.

Under Brightness/Contrast, select the option that represents the brightness and contrast settings you want.
(As you point at each option, the picture changes to show the effect that option will have.)
Tip: To fine tune any correction, go to Corrections > Picture Corrections Options, and then move the slider for Brightness or Contrast, or enter a value (between -100 and 100) in the box next to the slider.
