Adjust transparency on a picture

1. Select the image you'd like to adjust. 

2. On the Picture Format tab, select Transparency.

3. Choose a preset level of transparency or select   Picture Transparency Options for more choices.

Adjusting the transparency on a picture isn't currently possible in Word for the web. You can, however, adjust the transparency on a picture in the Word desktop app.

• To open the desktop app, at the top of the ribbon, select Editing > Open in Desktop App.
