  1. Choose a meeting or appointment and then select the Meeting or Appointment tab and then choose  Categorize icon​​​​​​​ Categorize in classic Outlook.

  2. Select a color category. The first time you select a new category, you can:

    • Add a more descriptive name. 

    • Add a keyboard shortcut key. This lets you quickly assign categories on selected meetings and appointments by pressing the shortcut key.

    • Customize the color.

Tip: Select Categorize icon​​​​​​​ Categorize > All Categories at any time to rename, change shortcuts, assign new colors, or add and remove categories from a meeting or appointment in classic Outlook. For more info, see Create and assign color categories.
