The macro recorder, used to automate frequent tasks, is not available in Publisher 2013 or newer versions. Instead, you can use Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to create or edit macros. This includes editing those that were created in earlier versions of Publisher.

Create or edit a macro

To create or edit a macro by using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), do the following:

  1. On the Developer tab, choose Macros. See Show the Developer tab to learn how to display the Developer tab.

  2. In the Macro dialog box, type a name for the macro.

  3. Click Create to open Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).

Run a macro

For information about how to run a macro in Publisher, see Run a macro in Publisher.
