Important: OneNote for Windows 10 support will end in  October 2025. To keep up to date with the latest OneNote features, get OneNote from the Microsoft Store or as part of Microsoft 365.

Image editing in OneNote for Windows 10 is limited to resizing and rotating inserted pictures and photos. As a workaround, you can edit and crop pictures in your favorite image editing app before inserting them into your notes.

  1. Click or tap the image to select it.

  2. Click or tap the Picture tab that appears on the ribbon, and then do any of the following:

    • Click or tap Rotate Right 90° to rotate the selected picture by 90 degrees clockwise.

    • Click or tap Rotate Left 90° to rotate the selected picture by 90 degrees counterclockwise.

    • Click or tap Flip Horizontal to flip the selected picture horizontally.

    • Click or tap Flip Vertical to flip the selected picture vertically.

    • To resize the picture, click and drag or press and drag one of the sizing handles.
